Okay, so I’ve sustained my first injury living in Africa. And what dangerous deed was I doing? What exotic and strange injury have I sustained?
Have you ever heard that saying “where ever you go, there you are”?
I spilled boiling water on my hands while trying to make coffee. It was quite painful for pretty much a whole day. Over the next week, it was painful but limited to my baby left finger, which developed a huge blister which then popped and then developed small blisters under the original blister and a large cut in my knuckle. However, it’s pretty much better now, just looking a little shiny and sunburned.
I’ve started interviewing religious leaders about their role in settling family disputes, and I’m going to try to start interviewing the lawyers I know as well. Things are proceeding slowly but surely. I miss home, but I’m getting along okay. My Twi isn’t great, but it’s improved significantly. I just need to work on my vocabulary now, and I’ll start being able to get the jist of most conversations.
I find it difficult to get to an internet cafe with real regularity, but one has recently opened nearer to my house, so hopefully the posts will pick up again soon. I’ve already spent an hour and a half trying to catch up with web stuff, so I’m going to keep this short. Thanks to everyone who’s been commenting and emailing, and happy birthday to Aunt Kris (and congrats on the book to Aunt Didi).

Ouch! That sounds like something I would do. I’m glad you’re better.
Also glad to hear the work is progressing. We miss you too!
Hope you’re doing better. Have I told you about the time when I lost all sense of taste and smell after scalding the inside of my mouth? Gone for 2 weeks.
Ew! and ow!
That happens to me every time I eat pizza at City Cafe. I just can’t wait for it to cool, and that hot cheese is like napalm in your mouth. Mouth beef for a week.
