Well, there’s a lot going on here at chez eco-monkey, preparation-wise. I’m trying to figure out what kinds of things I need for a year away. Lots of sunscreen. A first aid kit. I got some prescription sunglasses and a nifty little Leatherman tool:

I fixed the major bungles that I did to my site with the attempted template. (Although I have to moderate comments now because I’ve been getting spammed like crazy.)
I also officially entered middle-age with this purchase:

Academically, things are suspended until I receive my next round of comments on my proposal. This puts me in a weird, anxious limbo, but relieves me of the stress of revisions for a while. I’ve responded by playing lots of flash games and watching television. I consider that preparation for living without.
